Thirsa Scanlon, LMT
MASSAGE WITH SPECIALIZATION IN
Thirsa Scanlon is a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist. Thirsa's approach to therapeutic massage strives to relax the mind while also tending to the client's areas of concern throughout the session. She's comfortable providing light to firm pressure. Also, drawing from her years of experience, she often mixes modalities, chiefly guided by what will best care for the client: Swedish, trigger point, myofascial, craniosacral, polarity and lymphatic massage. Thirsa is also comfortable employing Eastern modalities.
Her journey to become a massage therapist arose from a bout of illness in which massage aided her recovery. About twenty years ago, she was first (mis)diagnosed with lupus, the autoimmune disease. Through some more comprehensive and exhaustive diagnosis, she discovered that she had Lyme disease, another autoimmune affliction. By the time professionals made that discovery, she was unfortunately in stage four of the disease. Misdiagnoses and incorrect treatment regimes delayed true and proper recovery and rehabilitation. Her journey back to wellness took nearly two and a half years! What finally brought some true relief in that journey—massage therapy! It helped her regain confidence, functional mobility, and realize the tactile part of her that led her to health.

This treatment time, like the 60 minute massage, will address the full body. It also gives time to explore and then concentrate on areas that require more detailed work or special attention.
